Solution.

What can be done to return the New York projects to a state of good repair while ensuring resident safety?

As the Project Lives book went to press, yet another tragedy befell a project resident.  Akai Gurley, 28, who lived in Brooklyn's Red Hook Houses, was visiting his girlfriend in Pink Houses the night of November 20, 2014.  Rather than wait for an elevator often out-of-service, they entered a darkened staircase, so dark a frightened rookie NYPD officer on patrol at the time drew his gun.  Moments later, the young project resident with a bright future lay dying.    The projects yet again wound up on the front page in a way that could only damage their future prospects.

And so it may only be by reminding one and all of the resident perspective on their own lives that a priceless asset for Americans in need can be restored.
